I am a Los Angeles-based photographer, who explores my personal connection to Los Angeles through my body of works. The city and its environs are featured as an important backdrop for my work that addresses issues of labor, gender, migration, and my Mexican-American identity. Working in documentary format, my urban and landscape photographs convey social and political commentaries regarding my immediate environment. The above image of a trailer was composited from multiple photographs taken over time.

Christina Fernandez holds a BA from UCLA and an MFA from California Institute of the Arts. Fernandez's work is in numerous collections such as the The Smithsonian Museum of American Art, the Getty, and Museum of Modern Art amongst others. Christina Fernandez: Multiple Exposures, a thirty-year survey exhibition of her work will premiere at the California Museum of Photography in 2022.

Christina Fernandez began teaching at Cerritos College in 2000, including PHOT100 (Introduction to Photography), PHOT110 (Digital Photography), PHOT112 (Advanced Digital Photography), PHOT234 (Portfolio Development), and PHOT150 (History of Photography).
