Over the course of several decades, the Cerritos College Art Gallery has actively sought to collect artwork made by students during their time at Cerritos College. The collection has since grown to become the John J. DeMott Alumni Collection, named in memory of former Cerritos College student John J. DeMott (1959-1992) thanks to the generous donation by his sister, Margaret DeMott-Feldman, and her husband, Louis Feldman, PhD.
