WPMD Gets Five Intercollegiate Broadcasting System Award Nominations

Awards Honor Excellence in Intercollegiate Radio Programs

WPMD student nomineesCerritos College's WPMD radio received five nominations for the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System's Golden Microphone Awards.

International Broadcasting System is a non-profit education corporation that serves non-profit education affiliated high school radio, college radio, community stations and streaming/webcasters and provides information, resource and conferences for its member broadcasting stations.

Nominations are:
WPMD for Best Community College Radio Station
Rob Flores, “Falcon Spotlight" for Best Public Affairs Program
Chris Gonzalez and Joseph Vasquez, “The Hot Corner” for Best Sports Talk Program
Justyne Becerra and Cassie Saldivar, “Meet Me on Main Street” for Most Innovative Radio Program
Samii Taylor, “Rock Steady” for Most Creative Program

IBS honors excellence in programming, air personalities, public service efforts and outstanding stations with the IBS Golden Microphone Awards every year.

The winners will be announced at the 76th Annual IBS International Conference in New York City on March 5.
