Silvia Varela, Financial Aid Technician, Named Employee of the Month of February 2016
The Outstanding Classified Employee Selection Committee named Silvia Varela as the
recipient of the Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee of the Month Award for
February 2016.
Silvia has been with the Financial Aid department since 2004 as a Financial Aid Technician. Silvia is committed to helping students understand the financial aid process and has a special heart for assisting foster youth students. She has made valuable contributions to Cerritos College students and to the Financial Aid Office by leading Saturday FAFSA workshops and being a member of the LINC team for foster youth. Silvia’s administrators often receive compliments from students indicating their appreciation for her contributing to their positive experience at Cerritos College and for her kindness while helping them through the process.
"Silvia, we commend you for your outstanding service and dedication," said Dr. Jose Fierro, as he presented the award to Silvia.
