Suzy Heapy, Administrative Secretary II, Named Employee of the Month of May 2016
The Outstanding Classified Employee Selection Committee named Suzy Heapy as the recipient
of the Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee of the Month Award for May 2016.
Suzy began her career at Cerritos College in September 1978 as a short-term temporary employee in Community Services. She was hired full-time in December 1982 in Student Activities as a Typist Clerk, moved to Community Education until 2011 when she transitioned to iFalcon/Student Success which lead her to her current position as Administrative Secretary II in the Library.
One of Suzy’s excellent qualities is her incredible work ethic and positive attitude. Amid all the changes that have occurred in the Library and Student Success division, Suzy has played a pivotal role in creating a seamless transition and does not hesitate to take on a large volume of responsibility if needed.
Suzy’s co-workers say that her light-hearted and easy-going demeanor makes working with her a joy. She has the unique ability to use humor to get through the challenges that the work day may bring.
"Suzy, we commend you for your outstanding service and dedication," said Dr. Jose Fierro, as he presented the award to Suzy.
