Board of Trustees Honors Retiree Janice Cole

Bob Arthur, Janice and her son MichaelThe Cerritos College Board of Trustees recognized retiree Janice Cole for her over 41 years of service to the College at the June 1 board meeting.

Janice Cole came to Cerritos College as a student in 1970 and was hired as an employee in the Community Service department. She began her full-time employment with the College in February 1975 in the Community Service department as a secretary to the dean. Janice has worked with the Foundation since its inception in 1979 and transitioned as the Foundation's secretary in 1992. With her expertise in event planning and incredible attention to detail, Janice coordinated 30 golf tournaments and five Hall of Fame dinners, with each one more successful than the last. The level of expertise and dedication she's brought to her work as a community college foundation secretary is second to none – always exhibiting highest level of integrity. Janice was recognized as the Employee of the Month in March 1990 and in December 2014, and was honored as the Employee of the Year in 2015.
