Lynwood High Student Gets College Engineering Design Technology Certificate of Achievement

Carlos Henriques with his instructor and college facultyCarlos Henriquez, a 12th grader from Lynwood High School earned a Cerritos College Engineering Design Technology Certificate of Achievement. Carlos began taking classes three years ago through the Cerritos College Special Admit/College Bridge Program that allows high school students to take Cerritos College classes and earn college credit. Carlos will be attending UC Merced this fall and pursing a degree in mechanical engineering. 

With the success of Lynwood High School students, the program has grown at Cerritos College. In summer, 23 Lynwood High School students and 11 Firebaugh High School students enrolled at Cerritos College.

"It is all thanks to the continued support from Cerritos College administration and professors," said Christian Munguia, Lynwood High School engineering instructor.
