Board of Trustees Honors Retiree Ruben Cortez
The Cerritos College Board of Trustees recognized retiree Rube Cortez for his 15 years
of service to the College at the July 20 board meeting.
Ruben began his career in 2001 as a part-time custodian and filled in for those on absent or vacation and spent time on grave yard helping the cleaning. In November 2006 he was hired as a full-time custodian and first covered the Learning Resource Center and then moved to the Science building. Every spring semester Ruben would help the floor crew finish the gym floor which is a fairly large job.
Ruben's most important goal was to come to work everyday and serve the District and students as best he could.
"I want to congratulate you on the retirement and wish you the best, and thank you for the hard workto the district," said David Moore, director of Physical Plant and Construction Services.
