Cerritos College is Now Authorized Testing Center for Autodesk® 3D Design

The Cerritos College Engineering Design Technology Program became one of only three authorized testing centers for the Autodesk 3D design software certification in the greater Los Angeles area. Students enrolled in the AutoCAD® and Inventor® classes can now take the exam to earn the industry-standard Autodesk Certified User and Autodesk® Certified Professional certifications at the completion of the courses.

The Autodesk Certified User certification confirms students have the skills necessary to continue their design careers - whether they attend college, enter the workforce, or work toward additional levels of industry certification after graduation. The Autodesk Certified Professional certification demonstrates that the certification holder possesses advanced Autodesk skills and can solve complex workflow and design challenges.

“In this two-tier system of certification, beginner students can take the certification exam at the end of their ENGT103 or ENGT131 class to earn the Autodesk® Certified User certification.  Students enrolled in the advanced ENGT257 and ENGT138 classes have a chance to earn their Autodesk® Certified Professional certification,” said Miodrag “Mickey” Micic, Sc.D.,Ph.D.,M.T.M., CSWP, department chair.

“The Autodesk® certifications are the latest addition to the industry certifications that the Cerritos College Engineering Design Technology has to offer.  Students enrolled in the Engineering Design Technology program have the opportunity to earn four AutoDesk® certifications and four certifications in SoldWorks®, another 3D design software,” said Micic.
