Patrick O’Donnell and Sue Parsons Named Managers of the Year

Patrick O'Donnell and Sue Parsons with the board of trusteesThe Association for Cerritos College Management Employees (ACCME) has named Patrick O’Donnell, director, Information Technology, and Sue Parsons, director, Educational Partnerships & Programs, as the recipients of the seventh annual Outstanding Manager Awards. The awards recognize a classified manager and an academic manager who have significantly contributed to Cerritos College through their leadership, involvement, and support of student success, instruction, student services, college operations, community involvement, and employee development.

Nominations were solicited from the campus community and award recipients were selected by the selection committee.

Patrick has a longstanding multilevel relationship with Cerritos College as a student, student adult hourly, manager, and director. In his current capacity as Director of Information Technology, Patrick oversees the campus programmers, PeopleSoft, servers, Publications, HelpDesk, as well as audio visual. He serves on the Web Standards, IT Standards, Planning & Budget, Facilities Planning, and Safety Committees.

Sue has a 31-year history with Cerritos College. She began as a math faculty in 1985 and has worked in both academic and student support service areas throughout her career, including Learning Communities and the award-winning Teacher TRAC program. Since Sue became the Educational Partnership Program Director in 2014, she’s overseen the new Welcome Center, Teacher TRAC, Learning Communities, K-16 Bridge to College, K-12 Articulation and Dual Enrollment. Under her guidance, Cerritos College has acquired $5 million in grants for many student success programs.
