STEM Event on September 30 Aims to Draw Student Interest in Science Careers

Demonstrations include ice cream making and DNA extraction

WHAT: Cerritos College's Science, Engineering and Mathematics Division will host the Fifth Annual STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) Open House on Friday, September 30.

With a strong focus on increasing interest in STEM fields, the event will feature chemistry ice cream making, strawberry DNA extraction, water scum analysis, sunspot observation with a 14” telescope, lab demonstrations, and a scavenger hunt with prizes. TA BOM, The Lobos, and Richeeze food trucks will be available for purchase. One ticket for each food truck will be raffled at the opening ceremony from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. in Room S-101.
