College Kicks off New 2016-2017 Academic Year with Convocation
Faculty and staff members gathered in the Burnight Theatre on Thursday, September
15 to celebrate the beginning of the 2016-17 school year.
Following the introduction of newly hired full-time employees and newly tenured faculty and the recap of the 2015-16 accomplishments, a presentation titled Culturally Responsive Teaching and Learning at Cerritos College provided keys to successfully serve a diverse student body and campus, led by Paula F. Brown, M.S. from Los Angeles Harbor College. Brown will be working with the College’s Center for Teaching Excellence to develop a campus community that embraces various cultures.
After the convocation, those in attendance enjoyed sandwiches, cookies, and punch in front of the theatre.
