Cerritos College names new Vice Presidents of Business Services and Human Resources

The College named Felipe Lopez as Vice President/Assistant Superintendent of Business Services and Dr. Adriana Flores-Church as Vice President/Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. The Cerritos College Board of Trustees approved their contracts at its regular meeting on November 2.

Beginning January 1, 2017, Lopez will oversee the Business Services Office including budgeting, accounting, payroll, information technology, purchasing, contract and risk management, auxiliary services contracts, and facilities and construction.

Dr. Flores-Church assumed her role as Vice President of Human Resources on November 3. She oversees the Human Resources Office and all of human resources and employee relations programs at Cerritos College.

Lopez began his career as an auditor with the accounting firm Vavrinek, Trine, Day, & CO., LLP.  Most recently, he served as Chief Business Officer at Compton Community College District. Lopez earned a bachelor’s degree from California Baptist University and a master’s degree from University of Redlands.

Dr. Flores-Church has been employed by the District as the Director of Human Resources/Risk Management since February 2006.

“Felipe comes to Cerritos College as an experienced and knowledgeable business officer. We are delighted to have him join the Cerritos College family and know he will make a difference here. Adriana’s commitment, experience, and well-established relationships at the college make her the ideal candidate for this position to become the new Vice President of Human Resources,” said Cerritos College President/Superintendent Dr. Jose Fierro.
