Psychology Student to Serve as Psychology Organization Representative

Reena RanaCerritos College’s psychology student Reena Rana was selected to serve on the Student Council of Representatives for the Western Psychological Association (WPA.)

The Council was created this year to increase student participation in professional events to better prepare them for a career in psychological science. Thirty-two graduate and undergraduate students representing 22 institutions were selected as representatives. Reena will serve one year as a liaison between WPA and the Cerritos College psychology students.

“Reena is an outstanding student and leads with grace and passion.” said Dr. Kimberley Duff, professor of psychology, who serves on the WPA Council of Representatives and nominated Reena. “I know that it won't be long before she achieves her goal of becoming a professional psychologist, and this is one activity that will help her accomplish that goal.”

Reena, who already has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, is taking Cerritos College classes to prepare for a graduate study in psychology.

Cerritos College’s psychology students have attended and presented their research at the Association’s annual conference for several years.
