Retiree Anna Edwards Recognized
Anna Edwards joined the Cerritos College family in 1988 when she began working the
night shift as an adult hourly in Fine Arts and Communications. From there she began
her steady climb up through the ranks as an hourly Typist Clerk (1990), then a full-time
classified employee as the Liberal Arts Division Secretary (1994), the Fine Arts Division
Secretary (1996), and finally the Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of
Academic Affairs in 2011.
In her steady climb up, Anna cultivated many relationships on campus due to her genial nature and kind heart. Faculty, staff, and even students who crossed her path during her time here in various offices continue to stop by her desk just to say hello and wish her well.
For all her achievements in her profession, Anna’s greatest accomplishments actually reside in her personal life. She is wife to Tom, and a mother of three children: Sean, Selena, and Shyanne. She enjoys spending time with them visiting the reservation where her extended family lives, and jet-setting to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for Christmas each year. Her desk was decorated with images of their smiling faces; a constant reminder of the wealth and warmth in her home.
