  • College To Break Ground On New Health & Wellness Complex April 5

     

    Cerritos College will celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Health & Wellness Complex with a ceremony on April 5. The approximately $51-million project is funded by Measure G Bond dollars and will be located immediately south of Falcon Gymnasium, along the western edge of the campus' athletic precinct.     Former Falcon Samuel Valle was accepted to a summer research internship at the University of Missouri in summer 2016, and is now featured in Psychological Science. Samuel was among seven undergraduate students from across the United States selected to participate in the University of Missouri’s first Alcohol Research Training Summer School (MU-ARTSS), an internship geared toward training students from diverse backgrounds...     Job seekers will have an opportunity to explore greater career options and speak with more than 40 employers at Cerritos College's semi-annual Job Fair on Thursday, April 6, 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. in Library/Falcon Square sidewalk. Attendees can apply for job positions on site, and network with employers from several industries, including healthcare, sales, retail, and government/public sectors...   • Dreamers Events to Empower All

     

    Education Without Borders (April 3-7) is a student-led week of events hosted by student clubs; Dream Club, Movimiento Estudiantil Chican@ de Aztlan, and Communities for Chicanos in Medicine to raise awareness about the challenges undocumented students face and the resources available to them on campus and within the community.
    On April 8, Dreamers Conference will educate the community about immigration and education resources. 

  • Breast Cancer Awareness Walk
  • Breast Cancer Awareness Walk Raises Nearly $900 

     

    The Cerritos College 17th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk raised awareness and funds for breast cancer research and education on March 23. With 52 participants, the walk generated $860 that will go to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. "I can't thank you enough for amazing years of support for our Foundation and for the great cause," said the guest speaker Linda Pura, of Susan G. Komen for the Cure...   • Community Resource Fair
  • Community Resource Fair a Success

     

    The ninth annual Community Resource Fair saw hundreds of participants on March 30. Attendees explored and learned about resources in the community such as child care, health care, legal aid, credit counseling, services for the disabled, shelters, social services, treatment programs, foster youth services and many more. Representatives from local social service and community resource agencies provided information and answered questions about the services they offer.

  • Campus Zone Committee Celebrates Diversity

     

    Campus Zone Committee hosted its first Safe Zone Lunch and Learn event on March 28. First of the series explored gender diversity and inclusion. They celebrated the completion of campus' single user restroom updates with all-gender signages to reflect a more inclusive and safe space for all members of the Falcon Family. The Lunch and Learn series are open to all members of the Cerritos College community.
