Public Affairs Wins Awards at CCPRO Conference

The College's Public Affairs Office was honored with first and second place PRO Awards at the annual Community College Public Relations Organization (CCPRO) conference in Anaheim on April 20. Conference attendees represented community colleges from throughout the state of California. PRO Awards celebrates the innovative and outstanding work done during the past year. Awards received were from submissions of design and projects created between January 1 and December 31, 2016.

The College won first place in the sports media guide category with football. Kelly Kwan has won CCPRO awards six years in a row in the media guide and wild card categories.

The team also won second place in the media success story category with the successful media coverage of the multi-agency active shooter training drill in June 2016. 

The statewide Community College Public Relations Organization is a professional development and service organization that seeks to promote excellence in California's community college public relations and related professions. The organization serves as a central resource of information and provides counsel and assistance relating to the advancement of community colleges statewide and the professional growth of its members.
