College and Community Celebrate Asian Cultures
Cerritos College brought together community and diverse cultures with the Festival
of Asian Cultures on April 19.
The event opened with a dazzling traditional Japanese drum performance, followed by a variety of performances, including Chinese folk dance, a lion dance, martial arts demonstrations, Erhu instrument performance, puppet show, Korean Taekwondo, Korean hip hop dance, Indian dance and Filipino dance that fascinated the audience.
Participants also enjoyed free Chinese, Filipino, Indian, and Korean food and desserts,
and prizes generously donated by businesses. In addition, the event featured workshops
showcasing calligraphy, brush painting, photo booth, and handcrafts.
More than 200 guests attended the celebration.
