Cerritos College Joins Civil Air Patrol to Promote Aerospace Education at OC Fair

Dr,. Micic and CAP representativesCerritos College Technology department teamed up with Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Squadron 68 at the Orange County Fair Imaginology STEAM event in April. Civil Air Patrol is the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force that performs three congressionally assigned missions including emergency search & rescue and disaster relief services, aerospace education, and cadet programs for teenage youth.

Cerritos College promoted aerospace education by demonstrating a wind tunnel and student-designed 3d printed airfoil models. Also featured at the exhibit were parts for the CAP high performance rocket that Cerritos College Engineering Design Technology and Composites students fabricated. Engineering Design Technology and Plastics Manufacturing Technology Chair and Professor Miodrag “Mickey” Micic, Sc.D., Ph.D., M.T.M., CSWP., CFI, who also serves as 2nd Lieutenant at Civil Air Patrol, demonstrated the wind tunnel and promoted the Cerritos College programs.
