Lynwood High School Students Graduate Cerritos College with Certificate of Achievement
Five Lynwood High School students recently earned a Cerritos College Engineering Design
and Production Technology certificate of achievement.
Eleventh graders Abieiden Lopez, Ashly Medina, Diego Hurtado, Jovanny Aguillon, and Diego Cruz began taking classes in 2015 through the College’s Special Admit/College Bridge Program that allows high school students to take Cerritos College classes and earn college credit while they are in high school. They received their certificates at the College’s Commencement on May 19.
The Special Admit/College Bridge provides seamless pathways for high school students to earn college credit while obtaining basic skills and knowledge needed for college, save money on the cost of college tuition, and earn a certificate while in high school.
“On top of graduating with a certificate of achievement, all five students earned industry certifications such as Certified SolidWorks Associates, Certified SolidWorks Professional and Certified Autodesk Users,” said Miodrag “Mickey” Micic, Sc.D., Ph.D., M.T.M., CSWP., CFI, department chair and professor of Engineering Design Technology and Plastics Manufacturing Technology at Cerritos College.
“Thanks to the College’s support, guidance and leadership, five of our students graduated with a certificate of achievement from Cerritos College,” said Christian Munguia, Lynwood High School engineering instructor. “I am thankful for the quality of instructors in the Engineering Technology Department and their support staff.”
