Shannon Estrada Named Employee of the Month of August 2017
The Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee Selection Committee named Shannon
Estrada as the recipient of the Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee of the
Month Award for August 2017.
Shannon began her career at Cerritos College in the admissions department as a short term temporary employee in 1987. She was hired as a classified employee in January 2008 as the Reentry Resource Specialist for the Career Services department. That’s 30 years serving our students.
Shannon is always ready and willing to welcome and guide students through the services her department has to offer. Many of these students are apprehensive about returning to school and she quickly puts them at ease and makes them feel like they belong. She easily gains their trust because she truly listens to them.
Her commitment to the college is evident by all she does to assist her colleagues campus wide, help all students, and is a presence within the community.
"Shannon, your dedication, commitment, and willingness to go above and beyond to meet the needs of the students and staff are exceptional," said Dr. Jose Fierro, as he presented the award to Shannon. "We commend you for your outstanding service."
