Trotters Give Back While Getting in Some Exercise
Cerritos College's 20th Annual Turkey Trot helps families in need
Runners, walkers and strollers alike all participated in Cerritos College's 20th Annual
Turkey Trot on November 16. The College's Thanksgiving tradition gives students, faculty,
staff and community members an opportunity to pound the pavement before they pound
their way to Thanksgiving dinner while serving the local community. Volunteers collected
1,431 canned food donations, including 615 items from the Child Development Center
and 102 items from Library that will benefit the City of Norwalk's Food Bank.
The Health, Physical Education, Dance and Athletics Division, Student Health and
Wellness Center, and Staff Development sponsored the event. During the race, games
and exercise activities were provided to children at the Child Development Center.
