Ryan Kang (Political Science – Stanford University)
Ryan Kang transferred to Stanford University this fall. After Ryan completes his bachelor’s
in political science with a minor in economics, he will continue his studies at Stanford
University to pursue master’s degree in public policy. Ryan wants to improve the lives
of marginalized communities that suffer the consequences of poverty and inequality
in this country. Whether in policy work, law, nonprofits, or academia, he wants to
make the most fundamental and lasting difference in these communities – in his community.
“Cerritos College was where I found my love for education, for learning. Cerritos was the first place I discovered core truths about what I wanted and about who I am. I think, most of all, it was a second chance. I took advantage of that. I worked hard to put myself in a better place. Cerritos was a platform, and a medium of opportunity. Cerritos College has the resources and services to give people from literally any and all walks of life an opportunity. All you have to do is go out there and take it. And that’s what I did.”
