CalWORKS Turkey Giveaway Brightens Student-Parents’ Holiday
The second annual CalWORKs Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway in November was a joyful day
full of happy faces and thankful hearts. Fifty-Six CalWORKs students enjoyed a Thanksgiving
meal this year thanks to the continued support from the ASCC, Northgate Market in
Norwalk, and the CalWORKs staff.
The CalWORKs Program serves parents who are attending Cerritos College and receiving government assistance. The Program provides support services to help students complete their educational goals and acquire professional competencies in order to achieve long-term self-sufficiency.
Care Harbor’s mission is to promote the health and well-being of underserved populations by offering free clinic events that provide quality, sustainable care.
Students in the Cerritos College Dental Hygiene program regularly volunteer in the community.
