Men's Soccer Team Wins CCCAA State Championship

A last-minute goal on a penalty kick propels the Cerritos College men's soccer team to a 2-1 CCCAA State Championship win over Golden West. Puente mixer event

Puente Mentee/Mentor Mixer a Success

The Puente program hosted its annual Mentee/Mentor Mixer on November 29, where Puente students meet their mentor for the first time. Mentors are Cerritos College employees, and at least have a bachelor’s degree. Mentees and mentors keep in touch and meet up throughout the academic year on topics pertaining to academics, career, personal, and any other matters that may arise. The mentor relationship benefits Puente students, who are under-represented, and many are first generation college students.

College Has New Faces on the Artesia Chamber

Norma Rodriguez, Director of Student Program Services, and Monica Lee Copeland, Chief Development Officer, Cerritos College Foundation, were accepted as members of the Board of Directors for the Artesia Chamber of Commerce in November. Monica and Norma look forward to connecting the College and foundation to the Artesia business community. Formal inductions are scheduled during the Artesia Chamber Holiday Party on December 18.
