Retiree Kevin Taylor Recognized
Kevin’s journey at Cerritos College started in 1992. After a few years as an instructor,
Kevin realized that he could also help the department by working on grants. He wrote
the initial grant in 1999 that became the Center for Advanced Transportation which
is a project that lasted 20 years and has provided great benefits for our students
and our local automotive industry partners.
Kevin was instrumental in the concept and design of the Automotive Partners Building which has provided a vital link between Cerritos College, our automotive students, and the automotive industry. Many benefits to our automotive program and students have been the result of the Automotive Partners Building and the partnerships that we have been able to cultivate.
Kevin conceptualized and implemented the Import Technician Training Program within the Automotive Department at Cerritos College which has helped many automotive students prepare for and attain jobs in the import automotive service industry. Kevin in the past few years also wrote multiple attainable automotive certificates that will enhance student success and completion rates.
