Robotics Club wins Judges' Award at VEX U Tournament
Twelve Cerritos College Robotics Club students competed in the Gear Slingers x CPSWE Open 2024 Vex University robotics tournament held at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo on March 2. The team, led by Engineering Design Technology Instructor David Li, scored five wins and one loss at the third tournament of the season, ranking fifth among 16 college and university teams in California. The team will continue to fine-tune the design, eyeing to compete nationally. The club's activities are supported by ASCC and the technology division. Go Falcons!
College celebrates Chinese culture and learning with Lantern Festival
Cerritos College hosted a Chinese Lantern Festival on March 5. The event featured an engaging lesson on the history of lanterns, storytelling, sampling of traditional Lantern Festival foods, and workshops on calligraphy, painting, and lantern-making... Free income tax assistance event on March 23
The Cerritos College Accounting Department and Accounting Club will offer free income tax assistance on March 23. Sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) provides free tax help to people with an income of $64,000 or less who need assistance preparing their tax returns... Presentation featuring Irish activist Goretti Horgan kicks off Women's History Month
The first event for the college's Women's History Month celebrations featured Professor Goretti Horgan from Derry, Northern Ireland, on March 5. Moderated by History Professor Dr. John Haas, Goretti talked about women's rights, the history of women in politics and society in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, and her journey to become a women's and children's rights activist.
