Program Requirements
You are expected to complete the following program requirements:
- Attend the MESA program orientation(s).
- Be an active member of MESA by participating in at least 3 MESA activities/workshops per semester.
- Attend a minimum of 3 Academic Excellence Workshops (AEWs) per semester.
- Study in the MESA Center at Least 5 Hours per semester (weekly recommended).
- Complete two volunteer hours per semester.
- Submit a MESA Student Education Plan.
- Meet with the MESA Counselor at least once each fall and spring semester.
- Submit Resume and personal statement to mesa@cerritos.edu.
- Apply to at least one scholarship, internship, or Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU)/Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) per year.
Academic requirements:
- Enroll in at least 12-15 units every semester including at least one math or science course.
- Maintain good academic standing and work to maintain/exceed a 2.4 overall GPA.
