Cerritos College Names Dr. Robyn Brammer as Vice President of Student Services

Dr. Robyn BrammerNORWALK, Calif. – August 31, 2022 – Cerritos College named Dr. Robyn Brammer as Vice President/Assistant Superintendent of Student Services. The Cerritos College Board of Trustees approved her contract at its special meeting on August 10. Dr. Brammer assumed her role on August 24. She oversees all student services and programs.

Dr. Brammer comes to the College with a distinguished career in counseling and student services in higher education and community college.  Her experience includes working as Director of Mental Health and School Counseling Programs for West Texas A&M University for ten years, where she oversaw the community and school counseling graduate programs. 

She later served as a tenured associate professor at Central Washington University for eight years, which included a year as the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, where she provided general support for and advice to the dean on school procedures, curriculum oversight and review, data collection and analysis, accreditation issues, budget planning, and unit strategic planning. In addition, she co-directed the Community Counseling and Psychological Assessment Center.  

Most recently, Dr. Brammer worked at Golden West College serving as Dean of Counseling for eight years where she provided leadership to Counseling, College Success, Transfer Center, Career Center, EOPS, DSPS, CARE, CalWORKs, Puente, and Guardian Scholars programs and services. Dr. Brammer's accomplishments at Golden West College include the creation of an auto-award completion program that increased graduation rates and increased funding, the creation of a guided-pathways self-placement program, construction of the campus block schedule, development of a new orientation program, and implementation of several new technologies. Her efforts also led to the co-development of a Case Management Program (CaMP); a program comprised of a team of staff members who regularly text students personalized messages to assist with retention. 

Dr. Brammer earned a doctorate in education & counseling psychology from the University of Southern California. She also earned a master’s degree in Christian thought from Trinity International University.
