NORWALK, Calif. - July 19, 2024 - On July 17, a beam signing ceremony celebrated the ongoing construction of the new
Student Services and Administration Building at Cerritos College. Approximately 120
guests had their names permanently engraved on the new facility. Spanning 118,000
gross square feet, the building will serve as a grand feature of the college, creating
a welcoming entrance to the campus for the community. Construction is scheduled for
completion in 2026.
“We are delighted to signify this milestone in the construction of our new Student Services and Administration Building. The beam we all signed will be an essential part of the foundation of the building, just as Cerritos College helps lay the groundwork for our students’ futures through education,” said Board President Dr. Sandra Salazar.
Board President Salazar surprised the audience by presenting a special photo collage
board celebrating Cerritos College President/Superintendent Dr. Jose Fierro for his
ninth anniversary as president and his unwavering commitment to enhancing student
success.
“All of our recent achievements result from our superb teamwork. None of these could have been accomplished alone,” said Dr. Fierro. “This new building will centralize all student services in one location for the first time in the campus’s history. We are dedicated to improving our students' and their families' social mobility and economic outlook with the power of education.”
