Sylvia Cervantes Blush '02 is an accomplished director, producer, and educator, whose passions as a dancer and actor influence her artistic vision. Sylvia is a first generation Master of Fine Arts, Director of Theater.  As a theatre educator she has worked for International City Theatre PACT, Summer Youth Conservatory and currently serves as Director, Music Theatre, Latinx Theatre at the University of Redlands. 

Sylvia,who is from Bell Gardens, earned her AA Degree in Dance and General Studies from Cerritos College in 2002, her BA in Theatre from California State University, Long Beach and her MFA in Directing from University of California - Los Angeles in 2019.

In 2014, Sylvia was awarded a Fellowship by the Los Angeles Theater Center and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to participate in the Encuentro 2014 National Theater Festival in Los Angeles. She was an assistant director and choreographer on El Largo Camino de Hoy/The Long Road Today: a play inspired by and for the residents of Santa Ana for South Coast Repertory.

She will be returning to Cerritos College in October 2019 as director of a bilingual production of Fuente Ovejuna, a physical stylistic adaptation of Lope de Vega's classic Spanish Golden Age Play.
