Más al Sur (Further South), part of the SUR:biennial, features artists living and working along the U.S.–Mexico border whose practices engage questions of body, memory, and place through painting, ceramics, textiles, audio, photography, sculpture, and installation. Their works move between the intimate and the imaginary—spanning domestic spaces, hybrid bodies, and mythological landscapes—offering a layered vision of life and creativity rooted in the Mexicali–Imperial Valley border region.

Steppling Art Gallery: The goal of Steppling Gallery programming is to expose the SDSU-IV campus community to cutting-edge artistic practices and exhibitions by contemporary artists and cultural producers working professionally in the field. The activities held at the art gallery are carefully selected and organized so that they are integrally connected to the community they serve. The gallery strives to expose the work of local and underrepresented artists and to present projects that deal with Imperial Valley, border and regional issues, pedagogy, and other subject matter pertinent to the SDSU-IV mission statement, academic disciplines and course offerings.

Event co-sponsored by Associated Students SDSU Imperial Valley, IRA, and SDSU-IV.
