Alumna Receives Prestigious Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans

Yanez was named a 2018 recipient of the Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans, a premier graduate school fellowship for immigrants and children of immigrants. Erik Duane to Appear in NCIS on Sunday, May 6 

Tune in to NCIS (CBS-2) on Sunday, May 6 at 9 p.m. and look for Marines in dress blue uniforms! Senior Technical Support Specialist Erik Duane and his reserve artillery unit will be in the episode "Where Everybody Knows Your Name." Erik worked a few scenes with the entire NCIS cast, including some direct interaction with veteran actress Linda Hunt. Don't miss it!

Lecture by Art Historian and Actor Peter Weller on May 8

The Visual and Cultural Studies Program presents a lecture by Dr. Peter Weller about Donatello's bronze David on Tuesday, May 8, 12:30-2pm in FA133. Dr. Weller will present his research about the varied interpretations of this early Renaissance sculpture and his conclusions about its much-debated homoeroticism. Peter Weller  has appeared in more than 70 films and television programs, including the acclaimed History Channel series Engineering an Empire.

California Community Colleges Board of Governors Vice President Visits Cerritos College

Thomas Epstein, vice president, California Community Colleges Board of Governors, spent a day at Cerritos College on April 23. Epstein took the tour of the campus, met with campus leaders, faculty, staff, and students, and enjoyed the lunch by the award-winning Culinary Arts program. At the end of the visit, the Educational Partnership Program presented the College's official Promise Program Cerritos Complete.
