Cerritos College’s Accreditation Reaffirmed

The campus has been fully accredited since 1959

The Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) reaffirmed Cerritos College’s accreditation status. The Commission accredits community colleges throughout California.

All institutions accredited by the ACCJC are reviewed every six years, including a mid-year report every three years. Accreditation is an external review process that ensures that education provided by an institution of higher education meets acceptable levels of quality determined by the Commission. The College’s next self-evaluation is scheduled for spring 2024.

“Our ability to maintain another six years of accreditation is a strong testament to the hard work and tireless efforts of our passionate faculty, staff, and administrators. Considering the rigor of the accreditation process, I am proud our team successfully conducted a thorough, collaborative evaluation of campus processes and programs to ensure the College met the high standards of the accreditation requirements,” said Dr. Jose Fierro, president/superintendent. “We are committed to investing more resources into developing innovative, high-quality programs and initiatives and to building a stronger academic infrastructure for student success."
