NORWALK, Calif. – April 23, 2018 – Cerritos College's 2018 dental hygiene class is smiling ear-to-ear over the news that all 25 students earned a 100 percent passage rate on their 2018 National Board exam. At the end of two intense years of dental hygiene coursework, students take the rigorous National Board exam as part of state requirements. In June, students will take the State Board exams.
"We are very proud to say that in our 45 year history, over 1,000 students from the dental hygiene program have a pass rate of 99.51% overall on the state exam", said Dental Hygiene Professor Dani Carroll.
The Cerritos College Dental Hygiene Program is a competitive, two-year degree program. Upon completion, graduating students will receive an Associate in Arts Degree in Dental Hygiene and will qualify to take the National and State Board Dental Hygiene Examinations. Successful passage of the examinations qualifies graduates to practice dental hygiene in the State of California. The program is accredited by the American Dental Association, Commission on Dental Accreditation, and has maintained its accreditation status for each seven-year cycle.
