About Student Equity and Achievement
The Student Equity Plan is a requirement under the Student Equity and Achievement (SEA) Program, established by Education Code 78222. Its primary purpose is to:
- Support Guided Pathways initiatives.
- Eliminate equity gaps for students who are traditionally underrepresented or disproportionately impacted.
- Ensure all students have access to comprehensive education plans, support services, and equitable opportunities for success.
Core Goals of the 2025–28 Plan
- Advance Racial Equity
- Embed racial equity into institutional practices, policies, and culture.
- Focus on racially minoritized and marginalized student populations.
- Close Equity Gaps
- Use data to identify student groups experiencing disproportionate impact (DI).
- Develop targeted strategies to improve outcomes for these groups across key metrics.
- Align with Vision 2030
- Integrate equity efforts with the broader goals of Vision 2030, which aims to transform California Community Colleges into more equitable institutions.

- Successful Enrollment
- Completion of Transfer-Level Math and English
- Persistence from First to Second Term
- Program Completion
- Transfer to Four-Year Institutions.
- Foster Institutional Collaboration
- Encourage cross-campus coordination among departments and programs.
- Promote collective action to dismantle inequitable structures and practices.
- Empower Students
- Ensure students are central to planning and implementation.
- Provide comprehensive education plans and support services.
