Child Development Permit Matrix

We strongly encourage students to apply for their Child Development Permit to become eligible for positions in state or federally- funded programs. Because Cerritos College belongs to the Child Development Training Consortium, your application fee is paid for and CDTC will reimburse you $49.00 towards the cost of fingerprinting.  Only online applications are accepted on the Child Development Training Consortium's website

Before you begin:

  1. Watch the videos on the levels of the permit and professional growth/keeping your permit current.
  2. Write down any questions/concerns you have.
  3. Print a copy of your unofficial transcripts.  Then schedule a time to meet with any of the full-time faculty to review the process and answer your questions.

Here is the presentation with the links.

We also highly recommend that students register with the California ECE Workforce Registry.  The registry is another area that you can show yourself to be a professional in the field of child development; find training opportunities to improve your professionalism.
