Anabelle Horton Named Employee of the Month of October 2019
The Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee Selection Committee named Anabelle
Horton as the recipient of the Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee of the
Month Award for October 2019.
Anabelle began her career at Cerritos College in 2018 as a Financial Aid Specialist in Financial Aid Department.
In the short time Anabelle has worked in the Financial Aid Department, she has proven to be an asset.
Anabelle works with students that have financial challenges and many of her appointments can be stressful.
Anabelle always has a smile on her face and a pleasant attitude no matter the situation.
This past semester Anabelle was able to provide Financial Aid Literacy workshops to students pertaining to loans, financing transfer education, and spending habits. She is also the liaison for the Umoja Program. Anabelle finds ways to improve the process in the department so students feel comfortable and well attended to.
"Anabelle, your dedication, commitment, and willingness to go above and beyond to meet the needs of the students and staff are exceptional. The administration, staff, and students appreciate your personal attributes and outstanding efforts. We are proud that you are a Cerritos College employee and we commend you for your outstanding service and dedication," said Board President Carmen Avalos, as she presented the award to Anabelle.
