Trotters Give Back While Getting in Some Exercise
Cerritos College's 22nd Annual Turkey Trot helps families in need
Runners, walkers and strollers alike all participated in Cerritos College's 22nd annual
Turkey Trot on November 21. The College's Thanksgiving time tradition gives students,
faculty, staff and community members an opportunity to pound the pavement before they
pound their way to Thanksgiving dinner while benefiting the local community. A total
of 817 canned food donation, including 444 from Child Development Center, and $177
cash donation were raised. All of these will benefit the City of Norwalk's Food Bank.
The event was sponsored by the Health, Physical Education, Dance ant Athletics Division,
Student Health and Wellness Center and Staff Development. The event offered a great
way to combine fitness, fun and the holiday spirit of giving.

First place (male student): Hector Ledesma (Triathlon Club)
First place (female student): Jessica Robles (Triathlon Club)
First place (male staff/faculty): Daniel De Avila (Technology)
First place (female staff/faculty): Belle Gomez (Economic Development)
Admissions and Records received the Spirit Award for having the most staff participation
with eleven participants.
Additionally, the event hosted game and exercise activities for children at the Child
Development Center.
