An Associate in Arts Degree can be earned by completing the above course work plus electives and general education requirements to achieve a minimum of 60 units following Cerritos College Associate in Arts General Education Plan A.
Four Semester Plan
The Pharmacy Technician Program is a full-time vocational program. The following course
sequence is to be followed to complete the program in four semesters:
1st Semester:
- PHAR 55 - (Formerly 60) Pharmacy Introduction (1st 9 weeks) (1.5 units)
- PHAR 56 - (Formerly 60L) Pharmacy Skills Lab (1st 9 weeks) (1.0 unit)
- PHAR 57 - (Formerly 62) Pharmacy Operations I (1st 9 weeks) (1.5 unit)
- PHAR 63 - Pharmacy Operations II (2nd 9 weeks) (2.0 units)
- HO 56 - Medication Calculations (1st 9 weeks) (1.0 unit)
- PHAR 50 - Pharmaceutical Calculations (2nd 9 weeks) (1.5 units)
- MA 161 - Medical Terminology (3.0 units)
(Note: must take Phar 50, Phar 56, Phar 57 before taking Phar 63)
2nd Semester:
- PHAR 81 - Over-the-counter Products (3.0 units)
