Professor Mark Deering
Mark Deering has two bachelor's degrees, in Philosophy and English Writing, and a master's degree from UC Irvine with specialities in philosophical logic, the history of philosophy, and aesthetics. He has published work on artificial intelligence with Dr. Jeff Yoshimi of UC Merced's Cognitive Science Department. He has worked professionally for many years in Cultural Resource Management as both an archaeologist and a paleontologist, presenting at several archaeology and paleontology conferences and publishing many abstracts and technical reports. He first started teaching philosophy at the community college level in 1991 and has taught classes such as Humanities, World Religions, Ancient Greek Philosophy, Applied and Professional Ethics, Introduction to Philosophy, and Logic.
