Areté - The Center for Reading and Writing in Philosophy

Areté: (Ancient Greek: ἀρετή), excellence of any kind; the act of living up to one's full potential.

Areté offers academic support to students enrolled in philosophy classes in the areas of:

  • Writing philosophy papers
  • Reading primary sources
  • Reviewing Logic concepts relevant to logic classes 
  • Guiding students in completion of homework

Drop by on an as-needed basis for help!

Arete is offered in the fall and spring semesters (No summer hours at this time).

Monday: Noon - 2:00 pm ONLINE ONLY

Tuesday: 9:30 am - 11:30 am Online and in SS-16 (the Social Science basement)

Wednesday: 10:00 am - Noon Online and in SS-16 (the Social Science basement)

Friday: Noon - 2:00 pm ONLINE ONLY
