College official cutting ribbon for Health and Wellness Complex completion

NORWALK, Calif. – October 5, 2020 – Cerritos College celebrated the grand opening of phase II of its Health & Wellness Complex on October 2. The completed 76,000-square-foot Complex is the campus' first green-certified building through the Measure G (2012) bond. The College opened phase I in March 2019, including a Conference Center and Dance, Fitness, and Physical Education Buildings.

The new 13,000-square-foot Team Rooms building accommodates the College’s sports programs, including baseball, men’s and women’s soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, water polo, and wrestling. The 9,000-square-foot Student Health Services building features a triage area, six treatment rooms, a lab, counseling and meeting rooms, a nurse’s station, and offices. The facility is conveniently located to provide medical vehicles easy access to campus, when needed. The new facility also features a Wellness Courtyard and Walking Track to promote outdoor fitness, instruction, training, exercise, and student engagement activities.

“Our beautiful Health & Wellness Complex would not be possible without the support of our community. This new state-of-the art facility will provide students with access to much-needed health support services, and new modern facilities to help our student-athletes prepare for game day,” said Dr. Jose Fierro, president/superintendent.
