Cohort 3 2022

September 29th and 30th BE-STELLAR cohort 3 began. Their orientation took place at the Columbia Memorial Center, in Downey Ca. The interns were participants in a team building exercise at the Challenger Learning Center where each intern was a crew member on a simulated flight to Mars. Below are some photos from that day.

So far the interns were invited to the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, as well as host of an event called Spooky Science along with weekly tours and visitors to the Columbia Memorial Space Center. Below are some photos of how things are going.

Spooky Science

For Halloween the Columbia Memorial Space Center combines the spooky with the science and it is a lot of fun. BE-STELLAR interns had a chance to experience this event.

Hear from one of the interns Guadalupe about her take on Spooky Science.

"Spooky Science was a great event that I was able to be a part of my internship. This was a great experience for me as an intern. We were able to interact with the children and able to do many fun experiments. My station was a slime station, It was awesome showing the children the process on how slime gets made. Seeing the smiles on the children’s face as they see their slime come together and being excited of what they had made was great. Not only was a slime station, but there where many activities for everyone to do, this event was for everyone as a family to enjoy. To end the event there was a Halloween costume all the children where able to show their amazing outfits."

See below for pictures from the event.
