Alumni
John Corbett
John Corbett is one of Cerritos College Theatre's most well known Alumni. After suffering a back injury which forced him to change careers, John enrolled in Cosmetology and Theatre courses at Cerritos. An early acting photo of John in Cerritos College's 1985 production of Hair can be seen in our photo archive. Today, he is a Golden Globe, Emmy, and Screen Actors Guild nominated actor, best known for his roles in Sex in the City, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and Northern Exposure.
Alejandro PatiƱo
Alejandro Patino was born in Santa Maria California where family still resides His parents moved to Compton California where they opened a Market Deli from the late Sixties till early Eighties. He entered college as a Business Major and came out Acting & Dancing. He has been relentless in his pursuit of Acting goals, since then acquiring quite an extensive resume. His first ever film work came in the cult classic "The Forbidden Zone" Directed by Richard Elfmann, that was the beginning.
Silvia Cervantes Blush
Sylvia Cervantes Blush is a director, producer, and educator. In 2014 she was awarded a Fellowship by the Los Angeles Theater Center and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to participate in the Encuentro 2014 National Theater Festival in Los Angeles. She was an assistant director and choreographer for South Coast Repertory and has directed numerous times for PlayGround LA. As a theatre educator she has worked for International City Theatre PACT and Summer Youth Conservatory. Sylvia earned her A.A. Degree in Dance and General Studies from Cerritos College in 2002, her B.A. in Theatre from California State University, Long Beach and her M.F.A. in Directing from University of California - Los Angeles in 2019.
Israel Lopez Reyes
Israel Lopez Reyes received his B.A. in English from Southern Methodist University and his M.F.A. in acting from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. He has gone on to perform in regional theaters across the country including the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing arts, the Los Angeles Theatre Center, and the New Your City's Metropolitan Museum of Art. In the field of film Lopez Reyes worked closely with Francis Ford Coppola on Distant Vision, a project investigating the possibilities of live cinema and was selected for a research fellowship with google in 2015. His work has been developed with the Latinx Theatre Alliance Los Angeles, Company of Angels and the Latino Theatre Company at the Los Angeles Theatre Center. Currently he teaches the undergraduate course Intro to Acting (T-20) in the Department of Theater.
