CSAW and the Orange County Woodturners Association Presents: Jimmy Clewes, Woodworking
Master Class WHAT: Originally from the north of England, now a resident of Las Vegas, Jimmy Clewes is
one of the most popular and informative turning demonstrators active today. He provides
a real variety in his demonstrations, showing his techniques with bowls, platters,
boxes, color, surface augmentation, and fire; something for everyone! Join us for
two 3-hour demos with Jimmy. Event registration is first-come first-served on the
OCWA website. Follow the link, mark “pay by cash”, and declare you are a CSAW member
in the comments section. Please make sure to register before the event so that we
have a total headcount of attendance.

CSAW Presents: Ellie Richards Artist Lecture
What: Lecture and Q&A. Ellie's work, both furniture and sculpture, have been exhibited
widely including recent juried exhibitions at the Mint Museum, the Center for Craft,
Creativity, and Design, SOFA Chicago, and the Society of Contemporary Craft. Following
an MFA from Arizona State University, Ellie was a resident artist at the Anderson
Ranch Arts Center, Peters Valley School of Craft, the Appalachian Center for Craft,
and the Vermont Studio Center. She worked at Penland School of Craft as the wood studio
coordinator from 2015-2019.

Students: Entry forms for the student gallery are available on the CSAW board! Please fill out all general information, and make copies to fill out the individual piece info for each entry piece. Forms are due on Thursday, 5/23. Please see forms for additional entry details.
Opportunities to volunteer for the celebration booths are available now on the CSAW board as well! Sign up for an hour at the welcome booth, the kids derby, raffle ticket or t-shirt sales. Only an hour of your time is needed, and the rest is yours to celebrate with your friends and loved ones.

CSAW Presents: Maloof Legacy Tour
When: Saturday, November 3 @ 10 am
WHERE: Sam and Alfreda Maloof Foundation, 5131 Carnelian St, Alta Loma, CA 91701
COST: $20 per person
Sign-ups and payments accepted at WMT bulletin board until 10/26 when final headcount is needed. Please deposit payments into the lock box with your name on the envelope.
This 1-1/2 hour Maloof Legacy tour will focus on Sam's woodworking legacy. In addition to seeing Sam and Alfreda's home and art, the tour will include a quick viewing inside Sam's workshop and wood storage barn.
This longer tour will also provide opportunities for visitors to consider the evolution of Maloof furniture designs and technique, culminating with a visit to the Sam Maloof Woodworker, Inc. showroom.
