Cerritos College Celebrates a Decade of Inspiring Future Talent in Manufacturing

Visitors touring the woodworking shopCerritos College hosted the annual National Manufacturing Day on October 3. What started as a small outreach event in 2014 has transformed into a significant celebration of the trades, attracting nearly 1,300 students this year. Thanks to Cerritos College’s faculty and the Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering Technology Linked Learning (AMETLL) Consortium, supported by a $2.98 million California Career Pathways Trust grant, the event has greatly broadened its impact.

Initially serving 150 local high school students, this event has become a key opportunity for students to explore careers in manufacturing. "We are incredibly proud of what we've achieved over the last 10 years," said Nick Real, instructional dean at Cerritos College. "Direct exposure to the industry is vital for students."

Cerritos College’s Manufacturing Day celebration showcases its commitment to the manufacturing industry and developing future talent. The college continues to strengthen education and industry collaborations, offering pathways to high-wage, high-skill jobs.
