In my work, I love to explore color, figure, and pattern. I primarily paint portraits of my family, friends, and myself. I like to paint these portraits as studies and as another way to have a tangible memory of loved ones. My love for nature and interior design also has an impact on the subjects that I like to create in my work, the bright colors I use are usually ones that I would find in my favorite piece of clothing, vintage fabrics, or in my Cuban/Mexican culture.

Whittier-based artist Alysia Margarita Ponce holds an AA degree in Drawing and Painting from Cerritos College and is currently pursuing her BFA.
