American Sign Language I

  1. Students use American Sign Language vocabulary in context, including dialogues and readings on basic conversational skills, such as introductions, exchanging personal information, surroundings, numbers, home, family, and describing activities.
  2. To prepare and present an individual presentation incorporating the linguistic structures learned during the course.
  3. Attend a deaf event, observe deaf individuals and deaf culture.
  4. Students demonstrate basic understanding of deaf culture.
