Student Graciela Espejo Named Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar

NORWALK, Calif. – August 28, 2018 – Cerritos College student Graciela Espejo was named a 2018 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar by Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), a national honor society. Graciela was among 207 PTK members chosen for the $1,000 scholarship award from the pool of more than 1,200 applications.

Graciela lives in Paramount, and enrolled at Cerritos College in 2015. She is a psychology major and plans to transfer to the University of California, Irvine. Graciela hopes to become a psychologist, and work with adolescents and seniors to help them develop healthy lifestyles.

Sponsored by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation, Leaders of Promise Scholarship Program helps new Phi Theta Kappa members reduce educational expenses while enrolled in associate degree programs. Scholars are also encouraged to assume leadership roles by participating in Society programs and are selected based on scholastic achievement, community service, and leadership potential.
